Young peoples thoughts & feelings (in their own words)

'Since I started with the Mouth That Roars company in November 2000, I have become a more self-confident, motivated person.

I have matured at a quicker rate compared to the friends I have back home. Mouth That Roars is generally an all round great company that has the facilities to supply the disadvantaged youth of the world with the energy boost that they require to get them ready for the real world'.

'Working with Mouth That Roars has helped me feel more confident and taught me more about working with others. This is a real good project because it gives me and others opportunities in things that our parents and friends didn't have when they were our age. Working with Mouth That Roars makes me feel proud of myself and proud of what I'm doing. I know that this will help me in the future and I will have experience in making a film'.

'Mouth That Roars has changed my life. I am more confident in front of the camera and people. I never thought about working in the media but now I am. Mouth That Roars is a wicked company that helps people like me and others. I am happy that I got to work with Mouth That Roars when we made False Expectations. I had never touched a piece of video making equipment before then. I learnt how to use a camera, sound and edit a film. It changed me so much. If I never done this I would not of taken drama for G.C.S.E'.

'The project I worked on with Mouth That Roars was exciting and a new experience for me. I have built up my self confidence in that project. Also I have learnt a few things to do with cameras and other technical things. I feel very proud of what I did and so do my parents. I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. Thanks Mouth That Roars'.

'I think that working on the project with Mouth That Roars has opened many doors and opportunities for me. I had many offers, jobs and projects. I have gained many skills and understanding of the media industry. I have focussed more in school and know many people who could help build my future. I also gained some certificates and recognition by councillors, school students and public by the project. I think Mouth That Roars should grow or more companies like Mouth That Roars because they can help build futures for people and the environment. The more money we get the more publicity and equipment, production etc. we can advertise the film and get a bigger audience. These sort of projects have helped me because I was seriously considering to give up on everything because I got excluded and I thought I wouldn't have a future. Mouth That Roars has helped build my future and confidence. I will mention them when I receive my first Oscar'.

'After getting involved in a video project with Mouth that Roars, which was a film called 'Lemon Meringue Pie Through a Teenagers Eye', I felt that my confidence had boosted up and my acting skills. I've observed others and learnt more skills and qualities. This project also helped me get in touch with MTR a lot closer. It will be something that leads to my future, well lets hope so'.

'Mouth That Roars has helped me in many ways, it has given me a different view about the media. I have learnt a lot about film making and had fun at the same time. It was a very positive impact on my life; it made me think about careers in the media industry'.

'Since joining Mouth That Roars my life has changed a great deal. My interest in the media and my dream to become an actor and singer has led me to Mouth That Roars. While I have been at Mouth That Roars I made a documentary and a new show. These two experiences boosted my confidence and have made me look at different aspects of life with a wider eye.

The documentary I participated in challenged me as a person. While doing the documentary I did not feel intellectually strong. This disadvantage motivated me to improve my intellectual skills. I now feel that I have overcome this challenge and I now use some sort of motivation to force challenges that will stand in the way of my dreams. I thank Mouth That Roars for being my stepping stone'.
